We’re notorious vamps when it comes to vino. We’ll declare molto amore for Italians one minute, and make eyes at lovely Aussies the next. We’ve hooked up with more light bodies than John Mayer at a Hollywood after-party.
Now we have a perfect venue for conducting our love affairs. The newly opened Kensington Wine Bar doles out great wines in full glass ($7-$11) and half glass ($3.50-$5.50) portions. Full bottle ($35-$70), too, if we’re feeling committal.
The latest venture from the guys behind Muse, this cozy underground spot on the Kensington main strip is laid-back and comfortable – complete with fireplace, dark wood bar and pillow-topped seats. Expect no wine snobbery here (your sniff-and-swirl techniques are safe from mockery), just easy-going 20- and 30-somethings enjoying a night out over wine and food.
Every wine region in the world is represented, and the food is sumptuous too: We’re rather enamored with the cheese and olives plates ($16), handmade mascarpone-and-lemon ravioli ($13) and charcuterie board ($18).
This could be the start of a beautiful love affair….
