Oh, the things we do for you, dear Sweetspot readers.
We recently attended the pre-opening night party at the Vin Room, a new (and most satisfying) wine bar.
First, we tried oodles of wines – good reporters never do things halfway.
Then we taste-tested – gobbled, really – heaps of seared tuna canapés and other treats. (Eating made it extremely difficult to take notes, but sacrifices had to be made.)
The menu is a mix of small hot and cold plates ($12-18), and entrees include the likes of prosciutto sandwiches ($18) and double-smoked bacon ravioli ($16). Wines are available in 2 oz ($2.75-$5.75), 6 oz ($7.50-$17.25), and 13 oz ($16-$37.50) pours, or by the bottle ($30-$175.)
We drank, we ate, we admired the black velvet wallpaper and many pillow-heaped nooks.
We also got some fresh air on the roof-top patio, and vegged on extremely comfortable chaise loungers.
A hard day’s work? Maybe... But we are willing to do any and all follow-ups this story requires...
