Bond may have asked for his shaken, not stirred, but we gals like to kick off happy hour with a variety of cocktails, umbrellas often included. With this week's Best Of list, we know where to go for the best martini, non-alcohol bevvy, fruity concoction and more...

- Best Martini: Mynt Ultralounge
516 9 Ave. S.W.; 403-262-6968
Although we love the name (swings us back to our youth), we love the drink even more—the Vanilla Ice martini mixes vanilla vodka, coconut rum, Amaretto, with pineapple and orange juices. Our man calls this a "feminine martini." Long live feminism! ($9.50)
- Best Sour Concoction: Joey Tomato's Mediterranean Grill
6455 MacLeod Tr. S.W.; 403-692-6626
The scrumptiously slushy and tart Stiff Lemonade composed of Grand Curacao, Lemoncello and vodka makes us instantly forget our troubles. Plus it's got a funky blue tint, and who can resist blue cocktails? ($5.50)
- Drink for Two: Melrose Café and Bar
730 17 Ave. S.W.; 403-228-3566
Sad to say, but this fruity blend is not hard to finish on your own. We, however, recommend ordering the Fish Bowl for an ideal scene of double-strawed romance. This hefty blend mixes three kinds of Appleton Rum, Grand Marnier, Peach Schnapps, Crème de Banane and tropical fruit juices. Yummy. ($21.45)
- Non-alcoholic brew: River Café
Prince's Island Park; 403-261-7670
No alcohol needed for the refreshing Prince's Island Iced Tea, comprised of the café's own iced tea blend, freshly-squeezed lime juice, fresh mint, and a splash of rosemary-maple lemonade. ($6) Ahhh...
- Use of Peaches: Earl's
2401 4 St. S.W.; 403-228-4141
This delectable drink has our girlie taste buds swooning—natural peach syrup is blended with Appleton VX rum, peach liqueur and sparkling white wine. Perfect for a gabfest evening with the girls. ($6.50)
