The Fluevog Effect
cool & collected in calgary: fluevog museum Calgary, canada
(Dec.07.11)
We told you about the John Fluevog store in Fashion Central when it opened back in July but now, loyal Fluevogers have even more to get excited about. In addition to the retail area located on the main floor of the gorgeous and historic Macnaghten Building, there is now a "Fluesuem," the first permanent Fluevog museum, showcasing shoes from as far back as 1970, located on the top floor, and the "Peanut Gallery" art space downstairs. The former will also serve as a community centre where people can come and hang out and even hold meetings, while the art space will feature different shows throughout the year.
In honour of the openings, the charismatic shoe designer, who celebrated his 40th year in the business earlier this year came to town to mingle with shoppers, media and fans, some of who even brought Fluevogs for him to autograph. Here's a sneak peek at the space but go check it out for yourself at 207 8th Ave. S.W.
