After working up a major post-yoga-on-the-park appetite, we find ourselves on our regular hunt for a healthy (yet satisfying) dinner alternative. We love NDG’s variety of culinary delights, but when it comes to reasonably priced sushi, our choices were limited…
But now, thanks to 5 Saisons Sushi, we don’t have to look any farther. This all new BYOB eatery tantalized our taste buds on a recent post-workout jaunt. The super friendly staff took our order for the beautifully presented appetizers like wakame salad ($5.50) and yam tempura ($5), but the sushi menu was the true pièce de résistance.
The chef’s specialty sushi menu features creatively-named rolls like Gimme Five ($7.50), Newton ($7.50) and Poker Face ($14). And although we couldn’t sample them all, the hands-down favourite was the Hawaiian ($6.95) with spicy shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber and pineapple.
For dessert, we justified sharing the maki ice cream ($10.50), a roll of green tea ice cream, by telling ourselves it was packed with antioxidants (the perfect complement to a detoxing yoga class).
