That’s why we took on the challenging and oh-so-tough job of hunting down Montreal’s top nail salons for this week’s Best Of list.

  1. Last minute lunchtime manicure: Diva Nails
    Eaton Centre, 2nd Floor, 705 Ste-Catherine St. W.; 514-282-9449
    With huge comfy chairs and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of the mall, this is the best place to grab a lunchtime manicure when Mr. Wonderful calls to make last-minute plans. Manicure: $15. Pedicure: $30.

  2. Most indulgent: Spa Diva
    Les Cours Mont-Royal, 4th Floor, 1455 Peel St.; 514-985-9859; www.spadiva.ca
    For baby-soft hands and feet, manicures and pedicures involve a relaxing massage and a divine paraffin treatment. Falling asleep in the chair is optional; you will have to leave eventually. Manicure: $29. Pedicure: $54.

  3. Bring all your friends: Avanti Le Spa
    6775 Decarie Blvd.; 514-739-2575; www.avantilespa.com
    What? You’ve never been to a spa with a liquor license? Well now’s your chance. With a minimum of five guests, you can have your party catered and sip cocktails to your heart’s content. Manicure: $24 (plus catering and drinks).

  4. Best man-a-cure: Mann
    449 Viger St. W.; 514-395-0707; www.mannmontreal.com
    “Hand detailing” and “foot work” is the alpha way to say mani and pedi (complete with soak, scrub and callus removal). Whichever way you say it, it’s a little piece of luxury for the guy in your life. Hands: $23. Feet: $44.

  5. Best service: Au Premier
    5487 Monkland Ave.; 514-489-8872; www.aupremier.com
    Peanut butter and jam, popcorn and a movie, latte and a pedicure — they all just make each other better. Relax, be treated like a queen and love every minute of it. Manicure: $20. Spa Pedicure: $48.
