5 à 7

Montreal (May.07.07)

Getting dressed on Thursday mornings all depends on where we Montreal gals are hanging out, cinq à sept. Is it a cocktails and jeans after work rendez-vous, or a high heels and skirt occasion? With this week’s Best Of cinq à sept list to guide you, we know you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
    Montreal
  1. Most likely to meet young professionals: Holder Restaurant Bar
    407 McGill; 514-849-0333
This French bistro in Old Montreal—just around the corner from Montreal’s financial district, Square Victoria—attracts all the handsome suits in the area. If bankers and lawyers are what you fancy, head on over to this regularly bustling after work destination and mingle with some of the city’s most eligible bachelors.

  2. Best terrace: Suite 701
    711 Place-d’Armes; 514-904-1201
Spring means we can finally bring out our wrap dresses and sexy sandals. And what better way to get our flirt on than to join the city’s most stylish and trendy crowd on the terrace at Suite 701. Overlooking Old Montreal, this hot spot is the best ticket in town on Thursday afternoons.

  3. Best after-work martinis while getting a mani: Ydem Salon Spa
    1410 Crescent, 3rd floor; 514-843-9333
Martinis and manis are two of our favourite things, so how could we ever pass up an opportunity to enjoy both, while sitting on the terrace of Ydem Salon Spa, overlooking Crescent street. This much-talked about new salon/spa hits another high note with their Thursday cinq à sept concept.

  4. Most likely to stay all night: Le Quartier
    1001 Square Victoria; 514-875-9669; http://www.lequartier.ca
Maybe it’s the live music on Thursday afternoons, or the luxury cars lined up for valet service, but this relatively new kid on the block has been attracting (and keeping) Montreal’s A-list for after work cocktails, that last well into the night. After all, one drink is never enough for this exclusive set.

  5. Best concept: Baldwin Barmacie
    115 Laurier W.; 514-276-4282
Away from the rush hour madness of downtown, this Laurier hangout is Montreal’s best-kept secret. Boasting a mix of Outremont’s fabulously chic locals and in-the-know Montrealers, Baldwin Barmacie is just what the doctor ordered. Previously a family-owned pharmacy, Alexandre Bladwin, has turned it into one of Montreal’s hottest spots. Order a syrup bottle of your favorite spirit and a bigger one of juice and mix and poor as much as you want! We also love the house’s delicious martini mixes and the creative cider cocktails.
