Although we love supporting cute and quaint Mom and Pop shops, sometimes we feel like throwing on a pair of killer heels and painting the town red (or black, depending on the outfit).
And dinner is no exception. With the opening of a new location in Yorkville, Ginza restaurant has become our latest go-to for all things sushi. With its clean lines, soft lighting and bass pumping (but not in a can’t-hear-the-conversation-way), this chic new restaurant is not your run of the mill sushi joint.
We started with the Edamame ($4) and Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura ($8) (which included delicious purple yam) and moved onto a wide assortment of maki - we highly recommend the Spicy Tuna ($5 for 6 pieces), Spider Rolls ($12 for 8 pieces) and White Tuna Sushi ($3 for 2 pieces).
Although nearly stuffed, we had to test the desserts and finally opted for the Red Bean Ice Cream ($3) - but will be back soon to try the Sesame Seed variety.
Plus, with Ginza Martini Nights (Thursday to Saturday after 10pm), we won't have far to go to continue painting the town.
