Nail Salons

Toronto (Dec.18.06)

Get buffed, clipped, polished and more with this week's Best Of manicure and pedicure list. Perfect for the holiday season, we know where to go for long lasting pedicures, the complete zen-diva experience, fancy fingernails on a budget and more...

  1. For the budget and time conscious: Cozy Nails
    3288 Yonge St.; 416-482-5566
The spot for a fast fix without feeling like someone has pulled a fast one on you. Who says a budget manicure has to feel, well, budget? Get a mani-pedi combination for $40; sit back with your smoothie (included in the price) and think of what you'll buy with the savings.

  2. Custom creations: Flow Nail Spa and Soap Boutique
    753 Queen St. W.; 416-955-0714; www.flownailspa.com
Treat your nose as well as your toes. After sampling one of five essential oil blends, select your favoured scent (the vanilla blend is to-die-for) and they'll mix it up lotion-style for your use only. Prefer smelling eau-de-you? They'll happily fulfill the service au naturel. Escape (come summer) to the back fern garden to dry. Manicures: $15 to $20; Pedicures: $20 to $50.

  3. No chip, month-long (even at the beach) pedicures: Allazo Skin Care
    294A Danforth Ave.; 416-778-9094
Nothing says fabulous like a well-lacquered set of toes, especially when they don't chip or peel and last well over the one month mark. Esthetician Toula Bintas (or as we like to call her, the pedicure queen) has the magic touch (and works her charm on manis too). And with a bounty of OPI polish to choose from, you'll never have to wear the same colour twice. Manicures: $20; Pedicures: $38; Combo: $55.

  4. Girl time: Polish Beauty Bar
    20 Camden St.; 416-203-0014; www.polishbeautybar.com
If having your nails done has started to feel something like a chore (those to-do lists fill up fast), shake things up and let the good times roll. Book in for Music, Manicures and Martinis offering Pod-worthy tunes, girls' night out and, oh yeah, great nails every Thursday night. Regular manicures: $25 to $35; Pedicures: $45 to $55.

  5. The complete zen-diva experience: Stillwater Spa
4 Avenue Rd., Park Hyatt Hotel; 416-926-2389; www.parktoronto.hyatt.com
Sometimes you want (and always deserve, we say) the full-fledged spa experience, even for your nails. For a pedicure that will leave you feeling pampered, the hour-long warm stone service at Stillwater is a must ($90). Basic manicure: $45.
