All in the Family
Trattoria Italian KitchenVancouver
(Jun.20.08)
Considering all our best parties end up in the kitchen, why not take the soiree to a more spacious setting and invite more friends? That’s how we ended up at
Trattoria Italian Kitchen, Kitsilano’s newest eatery, opening today.
General Manager David Kipis guided our inner Italiana through the modern, yet family-style space as we got our exclusive sneak peek. Staying true to Italy’s signature colours with a red décor, the mirrored acrylic panels added a warm backdrop to our wine drenched journey through the regional menu.
To our luck, an armless Venus and Michelangelo’s David were the only witnesses (in the form of graphic, hanging images) to our food sampling adventure. Admittedly, we were quick to order seconds of the crispy, wild mushroom and shaved asiago bruschetta from the bruschetta sampler ($11). And as the art of sharing is part of the experience, we went communal, diving into the Kobe meatball spaghetti on the pasta platter ($13 per person).
With food this good (and someone else to do the dishes), we don’t expect to be seeing our own kitchen any time soon...
