We’re sure it was a conspiracy when our so-called-friends “could not remember “ where they found the fabulous baubles displayed in their freshly decorated lofts.

Well, now we have a decorating secret of our own: Heather Ross In House. The new, expanded location is owner (photographer, artist, world traveler) Heather Ross’s magical vision – and her spell had us charmed at first glance.

The blue-grey toned interior reminds us of a Parisian boutique, filled with everything from decorative accents to small furnishings. We were instantly drawn to a pair of 18th century French engravings of snakes ($75), but settled on a black lacquer tea set ($275), hand-painted with persimmon and cobalt dragons. A mid-century hunk of purple coral mounted on a square of Lucite ($150) and a droll glass carafe ($35) shaped like a plastic water bottle also ended up our own bookcase.

We left pining for Heather’s own paintings ($750-$3800) and photographs ($50-$500) – making a return visit to check out these masterpieces a must. Inviting one of our forgetful decorating friends along, however? Not a chance…
