Sure, it’s located in one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods. But considering Crosstown is also one of the city’s “newest” areas in terms of housing and retail development, it’s only fitting that the freshest boutique on the block is geared toward making us feel, well, at home.
Walking into Nest Interiors, located in the historic Bowman Lofts, owner George Molnar greeted us with a hot cup of tea and showed us the expansive collection of home décor, art and accessories hand-selected by him and business partner Richard Edwards.
Our inner Martha reached for the modern-baroque pieces from the Louis Collection by UK designer John Reeves. We don’t need a new bed, but we can always find room for a new console table ($1750), non?
How about a new coffee table? The Mahonia cubic version ($1197) from the Nest exotic bamboo collection matches our modern-yet-simple design aesthetic, while its functionality—it’s made of Moso bamboo, which is 100 percent harder than Red Oak—and sustainability suit our eco-friendly nature.
Finally, how about a new sofa from either the Modern Essentials collection (from $1800) or a Tailored Classic (from $2995)?
Whatever we decide, we know this for sure: everything at this new design mecca is—sorry, have to say it—“a good thing.”
