It’s no surprise that we get giddy over a new pair of shoes. So chancing upon a new, fabulous store carrying lots of them?
We thought we’d died and gone to sartorial heaven.
Rowan Sky is Yaletown’s newest footwear emporium, opened by Nima Farahmand and Troy Cruickshank, who also owns shoe-store-next-door (well, down the street), Bionic. Housed in the former Ocean Drive Leathers space, the store’s modern, whitewashed interior and high ceilings showcase the perfect mix of cobbled and clothing.
For us gals, racks near the back hold edgy, Euro-chic pants and cardigans by Firetrap, affordable, high-waisted shorts and feminine tops by Sessùn (we love the blousy white tank with oh-so-nautical navy trim, Peter Pan collar and buttoned placket), and flowing, empire-waist dresses by Montreal designer, Anastasia Lomonova (clothing ranges from $100-$300).
The shelves stationed up front are reserved for sexy heels (ideal for clubbing) by Miss Sixty, comfy flats by Lacoste, Puma (rows and rows of them!), Chie Mihara and plenty of other quality names, like Vic Matie from Italy (shoes range from $150-$500).
Could heaven be any better?
