Ever hear of lampworking? Us neither.
That is until we came across the extraordinary Chartreuse Designs. Using this ancient method of torch-melting and molding coloured glass, Tracy Slobodian (the creative force behind this molten-hot operation) handcrafts stunning one-of-a-kind beads for use in her wearable art.
Her rings with interchangeable beads ($75) let us match our fingers to our fashion fancies, while her glass and Swarovski crystal bracelets ($140) give a colourful charm to our arm. Also available are one-of-a-kind wine toppers ($30) with matching canapé utensils ($60). We can even deck out our office with a Chartreuse pen ($50), but we'll be wary—it just might find its way to another desk if left unsupervised.
