NAT: Geometric Genius

We always knew there was a reason we loved geometry. It wasn't just because it was easier than calculus and arithmetic, but perhaps because we sensed we'd need it in our fashion future. With cone heels and oversized rectangular clutches all over the runway, our instinct was spot on.
And jewellery line Aroha Silhouettes is continuing the geometric trend. Using a variety of shapes in different styles to create eye-catching accessories (and illusions), the line is much more than unique.
Besides Vancouver-based owner Tania Hennessy having a keen eye for design, she uses recycled records to create her masterpieces. Her Phantasmal collection is not only fashion forward, but earth friendly too, which makes for our most favourite duo. Using an array of optical illusions for inspiration, Aroha Silhouettes draws the eye in and just won't let it go with its deceptively three-dimensional designs.
We were immediately attracted to the Eclipse necklace (US $45) and its intense circular shape. Somehow we didn't even mind the tricks that the Conform earrings ($30) were playing on our eyes and, of course, our inner bookworm couldn't resist the stacked Blue Hardcover ($45). Plus, when we saw the Imprision necklace ($45), we were reminded just why geometry was our favourite subject.
Take that, Calculus.
