Suggestive Inspiration

When our inner starlet makes an appearance (everyone has their diva days) we like to inspire as many where-did-she-get-that looks as possible. All it takes is one head-turning piece and a pile of confidence.

And with Amrit Baidwan's new store Ishara (Sanskrit for a signal) finally opening today, finding those pieces has never been easier.

We couldn't contain our excitement when we spotted Wendy Nichol's jewellery line (it's the only place in Van you'll find it), and picking our final purchase was torture. Would it be the gold plated and python earrings and matching bracelet ($150-$200) in a dark, burnt serpentine hue? Or was it the vintage, handcut Austrian brass plated glass beads ($300-$500) that would adorn our décolletage?

Deciding between Rory Beca's, silk and lurex, mustard-grey cheetah print dress ($330) or a ba&sh leather jacket ($675) in chocolate - a Rachel Bilson favourite - also had us in a tizzy.

Too bad our inner starlet doesn't have her own credit card.
