NAT: Give and Get

SamSaracanada (Apr.29.09)

Call it the reality TV curse, but we’ve gotten awfully used to having a vote (though maybe it goes back to our old choose your own adventure books).

Now a new socially-conscious fashion venture, SamSara, lets us have our say and shop for chic handbags and accessories at the same time. For every item sold, $1 will be donated to an important cause – and we get to vote where our dollar goes.

The collection features clean shapes with bold hardware and is made from the same high quality vegan “faux-leather” that creator, Montreal-based Inder Bedi, first made famous with Matt & Nat.

Buy the sleek Kelowna zip close wallet in deep plum ($55) and choose to donate to the Canadian Women’s Foundation? Sport the Vaughan hobo in bright white ($155) and support Earthsave Canada? Give the modern Winkler clutch in cognac ($70) to a girlfriend for her birthday and protect animals with the WSPA? Or purchase the Plateau satchel in classic black ($135) to help stop genocide through the Enough organization? It’s all up to you.

Think of it as a choose your own charity shopping adventure.
