While we know there is nothing but good feelings between us Calgarians and our fellow big-city Albertans (that would be you, Edmonton), we’ll admit that we were more than a little disappointed when North America’s first Mandarina Duck standalone store opened up this summer in our northerly neighbour.

But since we’re never far behind, we too can now sport the stylish handbags, purses, and business accessories from the 39-year-old Italian label—without making a three-hour drive.
The first thing we grabbed was the small, silver leather Baulotto bag ($310) with opaque nickel metal closure, and the large two handle sacwith double front pocket ($499), both from the chic Bowling collection. The white leather shopper with suede inlay ($345) from the Slam series came in at a close third, and after that, we snapped up the Vertical shopper ($365) from the new, best-selling Street collection.
And with at least five styles and four colour combinations in each family (others include Mix, Sac, and Metro), here’s to never being caught wearing the same bag – no matter which city we happen to be in.
