It's Saint-Jean Baptiste: What better way to celebrate our province than with the launch of a new accessories label from a talented Quebec native? 
With 16 years in fashion under her (stylish) belt, president and founder Julie Drapeau Crevier noticed the gap in the mid-level fashion accessories market, and has opened sleek boutique This & That - Axesoir to fill it. Stocked with jewellery, scarves, sunglasses and bags, it's not just about trends; these pieces let women express their individuality too.
With names like Dream, Meditation and Rest, each collection has its own sophisticated approach. Our eyes were immediately drawn to the gathered silk scarf ($42) in fuchsia, which went perfectly with the violet crystal & gem beaded necklace ($32) and matching bracelet ($22) that we also snapped up.
The all-time perfect accessory? A great pair of jeans. We couldn't decide between the trouser version ($158) and the boot cut ($148), both made of organic cotton.
With 8 more stores lined up for fall, both nationally and abroad, it seems others want to get in on this 'n that too. But we'll always pay tribute (in exchange for hot items) to where this slice of retail heaven started first.
