If you are looking for a fun movie to watch this weekend, I highly recommend that you check out the newly released “
Van Wilder: Freshman Year.” This wacky movie stars the dazzling
Jonathan Bennett as Van Wilder. As a first year college student at the prestigious and conservative Coolidge College, Van Wilder is ready to party but to his dismay all the girls have taken a vow of chastity. Also an uptight Dean (
Kurt Fuller) rules the school and due to a past conflict with Van’s father is determined to bring Van down before the year is over. Van embarks on an epic crusade to land the campus hottie, Kaitlin, played by
Kristin Cavallari, and liberate his school from sexual oppression and party dysfunction. No cheerleader will be left untouched and no keg will be left un-tapped in this hilarious prequel to the original! This movie is sure to bring many laughs. I don’t want to give anything away but there is a hilarious scene that involves vibrators…yes, you heard me correctly.
As the number one downloaded movie on itunes when it was released on July 14
th, “Van Wilder: Freshman Year” is clearly a must-see. Still in LA I have been fortunate to celebrate the release with my close friend Jonathan Bennett, who I have known since “
Mean Girls” filmed in Toronto almost six years ago. I accompanied him last week to Scottsdale, Arizona where we were basically treated like Brangelina. He has a lot of fans there. We were even provided with a “bodyguard” by Runway Magazine, just in case any trouble should arise. We had a great time at the
W Hotel, and even the 114-degree weather didn’t stop us from partying it up poolside after the movie screening.

Once back in LA we also attended the DVD release party at Coco De Ville, one of the city's hot-spots. Hundreds of people gathered for a night of fun, including many of the cast members. So really, the question you should be asking yourself is not Will you rent/buy “Van Wilder: Freshman Year” this weekend, but rather, Why wouldn’t you?
