Face Time

It's taken me awhile, but I'm finally a fan of facials.
(I know, I know, it's not really something most people work towards.)
You see, my first one was rather disappointing. While I loved the de-knotting of massages and the polish of the pedicures, lying down for someone to rub cream on my face felt, well, weird (and like a whole lot of cream).
I've since been lucky enough to learn that first lacklustre facial was the exception. And now I'm hooked. (Regardless of what you say New York Times.)
So while it's not a part of my regular routine, I enjoy the time to unwind and liken them to a great jump start for my skin. Here are a few of the places I'm happy to frequent repeatedly:
Pure and Simple:
I just experienced the new Lymphomaniac Facial and walked out determined to keep my glow. True, it started with "you want to massage what?!" but deciding to trust the experts, I went for the full experience - including breast and stomach massage. (Yes, you read that right.) These ladies are professionals and that's a small part of the total package, which really did feel like it got things moving that should have been and made my skin look better than it has all season. (Now to just keep up my healthy pitta habits like Chantel!)
Gee Beauty:
My love of this place is no secret - nor should it be. Just walking inside is a treat (though I always want to buy the sweet stuff - from watches to scarves - on display). The Ultimate facial is over an hour of dead skin sloughing and then some. Sure, I don't really know what oxygen does for my face but I swear I see a difference. Next time I'll add the eye treatment that kp swears makes her look more rested than she ever is in reality.
889 Yonge:
The girls behind this yoga/spa spot make me want to take better care of myself (turns out late nights, caffeine and an intermittent exercise routine do not make for the most radiant results). Luckily I don't need to explain any of that - The Theraputic Facial (on special for September) addresses skin needs I didn't even know I had.
The rest is up to me to maintain. So now I'm off to wash my face.
