So Long Summer

Today I'm sipping soup and I walked to work in knee-high boots and a leather jacket.

There's no mistaking fall has arrived. (Just ask Ashley.)

So while I too am excited to usher in chunky sweaters and bring back my boots (maybe I jumped the gun?), I'm sad to say good-bye to my favourite season (and am also feeling reflective).

What I'll miss:
Summer vacation. I’m not in school anymore and technically can take time off whenever I want but I still seem to focus mine post-spring. This year I was lucky enough to take a few and get back east to see family and visit a friend on an Ottawa road trip. 
Sockless feet. I don't know why but I've never been a fan of wearing socks. As much as I love boots, I'll be sad to see sandals and open-toed shoes go.

Patio season. I'm always up for meeting friends at the nearest patio and can't wait to order a pint to wind down the day. (Though maybe it's a good thing for my wallet - and my waistline - that it doesn't last forever.)

Birthdays. I swear my love for summer isn't just because I was born in June. My entire family stretches from June through August so there always seems to be a celebration going on.

That said, I'm still a fan of fall. We've got LG Fashion Week coming up, fresh TV to watch, great clothes to wear and September always feels like a fresh start (blame it on those years of being a student).

I guess, bring on the soup.
