More Great Gifting

girl about t.o. canada (Dec.02.09)

While I love shopping, the holidays often stump me.

I think I'm a really good browser, but when it comes to getting something specific (or for someone specific), I get off track. Luckily, Toronto has (what sometimes seems like) an endless supply of stores to shop and I work with people who know them (including one of our freelancers who's behind Gifted, a blog dedicated to giving).

Last week, we shared 5 of our favourite Toronto gift stores (Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, yours are in City Living too) but believe me, the behind-the-scenes of narrowing it down was not simple.

In the spirit of the season, I thought I'd share some more of the about T.O. shops the editorial team loves:

Pottery Barn (and sister store, Williams Sonoma)

Great home finds (like these wine stoppers that made it onto a few lists).

Chapters/Indigo

Much more than just books, this is a serious last-minute saviour. (Love these sweet book ends)

Bath & Body Works

Fans since it first opened, stocking stuffers are a snap. (Ashley swears by this moisturizing anti-bacterial lotion.)

Crate & Barrel

I'm starting to realize I really like gifting SweetHome stuff. (But hostess and couple gifts are so easy at C&B!)

The Spice Trader

My Queen West go-to for sweet pre-packaged (and presented) sets.

Rolo

An almost-hidden Yorkville spot that's got quirky covered (someone on my list will be getting this knife holder).

Valhalla Cards and Gifts

Another Queen West spot (yep, I live west), this one caters to my Moleskine obsession, love of pretty cards and paper needs I didn't even know I had.

The brainstormed list was even longer than that, but these are the ones I buy from the most (and seemed to provide a broad spectrum for everyone). Now, if only I was actually organized enough to have started my shopping. (Or at least start my list.)
