What's the best way to break up a day? A leisurely lunch.
And while we don't always have the time to indulge, last week was a special occasion as our editorial team gets ready to send Sarah off to become a SweetMama and says hello to Gabrielle, who we're so excited to have join the team.
So where was first on our list to celebrate? MoRoCo Chocolat proved the perfect backdrop for a team outing.
And while a few of us may have wanted to start with dessert (the chocolates and macarons are amazing and you walk past the display cases to your table), the lunch options live up to the sweets. We started with shared platters, moved onto everything from truffled macaroni and cheese to a rare ahi salad nicoise, a chicken club and more.
No matter how full we might have been.
Sarah's frozen hot chocolate was incredible, my cappuccino came with a perfectly prepared macaron, Nadine and Gabrielle went for sweet sipping chocolate, Mia took to a classic brownie and Bonnie and Sam decided to share my new favourite thing on a menu: table-prepared s'mores.
A platter was presented of the necessary ingredients and it's up to the eaters to toast their marshmallows on the small flame. An updated take on a campfire classic.
Of course, it's the company that really makes a meal and this was a great chance to get away from the everyday, slow down and re-connect. Not something I do often enough, and something I'll try to remember even when brown bagging (or reusable container-ing) leftovers.
