It’s September. I actually can’t believe it’s September (August? Where did you go? Last I looked it was Canada Day…)
Since it still feels like a back to school season to me, I always find myself resolving to get organized and make the most of the month. (And I’m not alone, Gabrielle shared her September resolutions yesterday.)
These are the things I’m planning to do. Just maybe not all today.
Closet Clean. It’s time to purge (and not just to make room for some of the Fall Fashion Trends). I need to be merciless and get back to an organized state of being. Besides, if Mia can live off of six pieces of clothing for the month, I have no excuse.
Finance Fix-Up. Summer is all about after-work drinks, patios, barbecues and other extra expenses. And even though I’m not suggesting one can ignore finances for three months, fall will still be for making sure I’m organized and on track with everything (and spending some more time reading SweetCents.)
Picture Perfect. I’ve been trying, I’ve really been trying to take more pictures (that’s me and my mom on my summer stop back east). Now I need to keep it up and actually do something with the darn things. My sister-in-law is an inspiration for taking tons and then culling and displaying only the best of the bunch so that’s my plan for some imminent photo projects.
Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate. OK, less of a resolution and more of a personal promise – but an important one! Changing seasons wreak havoc on my skin and I shouldn’t be surprised by impending flakiness. I use Dermalogica Microfoliant for my face and think I’ll try Carmindy’s sugar scrub for my body to keep things glowing.
Moving Madness. I’m currently on the hunt for a new apartment (know of anything in the Annex? No, seriously.) but am a notoriously bad mover (despite doing it six times in six years). Packing overwhelms me, boxes fill too quickly and spatial skills are not a strong suit. Since I know it’s inevitable, I’m determined to chip away at it, purge what I can (see #1) and focus on the excitement of setting in somewhere new.
So come on, are Gabrielle and I the only ones who make lists for fall?
