Taking a page from Gabrielle’s obsessions book, this week I’m thinking about the finds that are making my May a little more standout (many rainy days in a row aside).
Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself by François Nars, $50. Available at Holt Renfrew.
The latest beauty book from the man behind the Nars brand is a gorgeous coffee table book and makeup manual in one. Almost 60 (real people) faces fill the pages, clean skin on one page, fully made up on the facing page and a clear overlay with skin mapping instructions in between. What a (gorgeous) way to learn.
Elsa Peretti Bottle Collection, from $355. Available at www.tiffany.ca.

Maybe growing up by the ocean has made me romanticize all things with even a hint of nautical, but these latest Elsa Peretti pendants have proven to stand the test of time. The designer’s first foray into jewellery has been reintroduced (with new silhouettes) and has me thinking of a message thrown to sea (rather than the original Halston fragrance bottle it was used for or the idea of a flower vase).
Sunscreen isn’t just for the beach, and with the sun (finally!) starting to make an appearance this spring, I’m thinking about my SPF habits even more. This zinc-oxide-and-titanium-dioxide formula means it’s a physical sunscreen that blocks the rays but it’s so sheer you just shake it up and apply and are instantly shine free (so don’t start picturing the infamous zinc noses from old Saved by the Bell episodes).
All in all, a very good start to spring (and that’s really just the beginning of the list).
