I didn't wear a lot of belts growing up (I'm short-waisted, so was often trying to add a little length to my torso and steal it from my legs so didn't necessarily want to highlight where my pants started).

But somewhere along the way, I realized all that I was missing. (And it helped that my mom loves her accessories — and kept some great belts from the '80s that were completely back in style a few years ago.) I also realized belts were for way more than just holding up your pants. Over a dress, slung on your hips, cinching a sweater and highlighting your natural waist are all options I've learned to love.
