Every so often, we chance upon a quaint little place we’ve surprisingly never noticed before. Such was the case with Cranberries Spa, which we’d walked by hundreds of times (it is right on Robson Street, after all) but never visited—until now.
In addition to boasting a huge word-of-mouth following, high-quality product lines (like Dermalogica) and one of the quickest and most thorough Brazilian waxes in the city (who wants prolonged pain down there?!), owner Kristie Thomas also offers a service called glitter toes (add $20 to any pedicure).
Popular in Hollywood, after the usual buffing, cuticle treatment, and foot massage, an aesthetician layers gel and any colour of glitter you choose (we like purple), then cures the whole thing under a UV light. The result? An instant-dry, super-long-lasting, sparkly pedicure that can withstand sand and surf.
Non-glittery colours are also available (the black is a true black, not navy or dark purple), meaning there’s no longer any excuse for unsightly toes in sandals.
