Write something by hand? How prehistoric! Between typing, texting and managing our iPod, who needs a pen?

So it wasn’t any wonder when we felt a tinge of carpal tunnel syndrome after a prolonged session of penmanship. To the rescue: Spa Aliyah, a new wellness center forging a reputation for fixing what ails ‘ya via therapeutic massage.
Insulated from the street action below, Spa Aliyah is an urban haven. Who expects to find a spa over a driving academy? We were enchanted by the Zen-meets-Africa décor, with zebra prints beside bamboo accents. Owner and massage guru Daniel Gavsie has a way of using his medical skills to pamper clients while re-tooling their muscular-skeletal issues. (Prices start as low as $50 for 30 minutes, reaching $115 for 90 minutes, tax included.) But Daniel isn’t the only star on site. Expect miracles from the rest of the massage staff, including Michelle Goldman, Kim Mai Tran and Laura Piccioni.
Did our carpal tunnel syndrome fade away, fast? You bet, as did our sciatica, thanks to a few daily stretches.
