I have to be honest: I have a weird obsession with the smell of the beach.
Maybe it's because I have amazing memories of being at the beach. Whenever I get a whiff of something that smells beachy, it reminds me of those extra-special times. Whether I'm reminded of family vacations, my first vacation with my boyfriend or being in tropical locations with my best girlfriends, the beach scent brings me right back to being there.
I love it so much, that when I was younger I wore sunscreen as perfume. Yes, it meant that I was protected against harmful UVA and UVB rays every day, but it also meant that people thought I was incredibly weird when they asked what kind of perfume I was wearing, and my response was, "Australian Gold SPF 15."
To my dismay, beach scents aren't for all seasons — you can only get away with smelling like a beach during the summer months, which is why July 4th seemed like the perfect opportunity to round up my favourite beachy scents. From body lotions to face scrubs, these products will make sure that through every step of your day, you'll feel like you have a little sand in your toes...
