We know this recession thing is a real bummer, but sometimes, we wish we could drown out all the money talk and just escape to somewhere exotic.
Alas, our finances prevent us from doing so (isn’t it ironic?).
Thankfully, there’s Hana Advanced Esthetics, where a treatment by owner Hana Kalousova is the next best thing after a true vacation. Sure, her space may lack the waterfalls and candle-lit atmosphere of other spas, but wouldn’t you rather pay for the work of a skilled esthetician than for her hydro bill? In any case, what her office lacks in ambience, Hana more than makes up for in experience (just ask her clients, which include Jessica Alba, Ellen Barkin, and more than a few local ladies who lunch).
A full treatment menu includes manis, pedis and waxing services, but we swear by her signature Laser Biostimulation Facial ($155). At two hours long, our skin has never felt so clean, regenerated, hydrated or pampered (say bye-bye to post-winter dryness!).
Collagen treatments ($130) are also popular, and next time, we’ll be adding a papaya, glycolic, or alpha peel ($35-$55) to a basic 90-minute facial (from $86).
Who needs vacation debt when two blissful hours does the trick?
