Flagship Fever

Puffy is comfy. Puffy is functional. Puffy is not pretty. So if your coat was inspired by the Michelin Man, it might be time to re-think your cold weather style.
We’ve told you before about our best winter coping weapon: A sleek coat from Sicily. Now we’re happy to report that they’ve just opened their first flagship boutique.
Springboarding from the success of our Sweet Nothing (at least, we’d like to think so), and subsequent orders from super stores like Anthropologie, they’ve just taken over the West & Co. space on Mt. Royal. (By “just” we mean their name isn’t even on the marquee yet, so don’t be fooled by the sign outside.)
Inside, we drooled over the Tsarina-style wool coats – and went into sticker shock at the affordable prices. Woollen tweed coats are $350. Leather styles with fur collars are only $429. (That’s all the reason we needed to chuck out our parka.). And while we’re on a roll, why not give ourselves a handbag makeover? We fell for the croc print patent totes ($49.99) by Sasha and the handled day bags by High Fashion ($79).
But the surprise temptation was Sicily’s new line of shoes and boots. We recommend the tweed flats ($39), round-toe slouch boots ($69) or the over-the-knee suede riding boots ($89.95).
Stylish coats and boots may not help the temperature – but at least we’ll look cute while shivering on the street corner.
