Where in the World is Carmen

We’re never served our ¼-pounder by Wendy, and we’re beginning to doubt the existence of Mark (though we frequent his work wearhouse). So we were pleasantly surprised to walk into Carmen’s Boutique and be greeted by Carmen herself (especially since we were on Yonge Street – not in San Diego).

We barely said “Nice to meet you” before jumping into the feminine selection. We’re finding an excuse to wear the bi-leveled Shulami dress with a black skirt and silver silk bodice (Cousin’s wedding? $175). We’ve found Summer lovin’ with a billowy and brightly coloured Sans Souci tank ($60).

And we were ecstatic to see an entire rack of the French label Sinéquanone. How could we choose between their graduated pink and grey jersey dress ($160), linen wide leg pants ($140) and tribal print brown, black and cream dress ($160)? (Answer: We don’t.)

We’ll have to act fast – not even three weeks old, the store has already sold out of some killer pieces (proof that Carmen has great taste and our closets’ attention).
