We loved raiding our sister's closet. But once our parents became empty-nesters, pilfering her jewellery box wasn't worth the cross-Canada airfare.
Instead we indulge our closet-looting behaviour at Norma W, a hole-in-the-wall boutique in Kensington Market. Tucking ourselves into this girly boudoir-ish space, we find brightly coloured (and patterned) one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories.
Warding off winter chill, we grab a knitted hat decorated with a woollen bunny (available in a range of stripes and colours; $20). And to banish January blahs, we strap on a gem-hued paper necklace ($24).
Playing Cinderella, we try on a pair of vintage painted shoes (too bad our shoe size is more "wicked-step-sister" than "Mrs. Prince Charming"; $28).
The bonus to our bounty: As the rightful owner, we don't have to return any of it (not that our Sis ever got 100% of her inventory back).
