We often wish everyday at work was casual Friday—if not for the comfort factor (wide-legged jeans feel so much better than pencil skirts) than for the fact that we recently chanced upon the perfect place to find clothing for that day of the week.
At West Point Grey’s new Modern Boutique, owners Tania Playfair and Doug Boes have found a comforting mix of international and Canadian labels that make us love dressing down even more.
Key pieces in store include stylish wrap tops and tailored bottoms by Toronto-based Lili Bleu, denim by LA-based It! jeans, a well-edited selection of blouses from Puli and casual wear by Vancouver’s Unme. Prices start at $20, and nothing in the store exceeds $200, so it’s no wonder the boutique is the new shopping destination for so many of the area’s students and young professionals.
After all, casual Friday at the summer job translates well into everyday wear come September, doesn’t it? Those lucky gals…
