We thought that with Meinhardt, Misch, and the recent additions of Lucky and Purr, our South Granville saunters couldn’t get any better - until we discovered Violet.
Owner Genevieve Allen has created a space that resembles a modern Parisian gal’s apartment (a gal like French Vogue editrix Carine Roitfeld), stocked mostly with European and lesser-known designers.
It’s easy to imagine one of the flowy, oh-so French Paul and Joe Sister dresses or sculptural tops by Cotelac ($200-600) paired with the versatile leather Fiorentini + Baker boots ($700) – a Mary-Kate Olsen and Jessica Biel favourite – or heels by Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent ($240-420).
More obscure, but equally lovely labels include Abraham & Thakore from India (look for embroidered pieces from $200) and plenty of super-soft knits, outerwear and even accessories by Cacharel, the fragrance powerhouse. There are also sumptuous leather bags by British designer Charlott Vasberg (from $300) to put all our new purchases in, of course.
We can’t wait to see what South Granville Rise comes up with next…
