When we’re feeling stressed, we dream of a place where we can disconnect from the world, and enjoy healthy doses of sunshine, food and happy people accommodating our every wish. 
A place where we can get our Wi-Fi on, but where cellphone chatter is restricted to guest rooms. Where we can dine in our plush spa robes when we don’t feel like getting dressed for dinner.
We found just what the naturopathic doctor ordered when we checked into the Miraval Luxury Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona, for their Starry Starry Night retreat (from $399US/person/night).

We checked into our eco-gorgeous Catalina Suite – complete with rammed-earth walls, outdoor shower, stunning mountain views and the most heavenly beds – and began crafting our schedule.
Having unlimited access to more than 150 programs promoting Miraval’s balanced living philosophy, some days were highly active (morning hikes, yogalates), some super adventurous (walking a balance beam suspended 30 feet in the air), while others took on decidedly life-changing qualities (creating realistic diet plans, learning mindful stress mastery). And on occasion, we signed off and lounged poolside – mindfully monitoring our vitamin D intake, of course.
With a $125 daily credit included in the room rate, indulging in luxe spa services is not only encouraged, but practically required. We chose from more than 50 treatments, beginning with the decadent detoxification of the Sonoran Mud Wrap ($185 for 80 min), and an acupuncture session ($180 for 80 min). On days that flowed dreamily into the next, we opted for a lavender-infused Sweet Slumber Massage ($185 for 70 min), and the Emergin C Peel ($185 for 80 min) that respectively left bodies loose and faces luminous.
Did we mention that staying in our robes was an all-day option? During dressed-down dinners, we savoured a variety of perfectly prepared and portioned dishes – including black cod, steak and risotto. Over soy ice cream and flourless chocolate cake, we debated when someone would stir us from this Zen dream.
