We love yoga (an Ohm a day keeps the doctor away) – but who wants to spend the sunny days of summer stuck inside a crowded, sweaty studio? Not us.
So we’ve turned to Nature’s Tracks Eco and Yoga Adventures to lead us into tree pose – with the help of some live inspiration from the mountains around Banff.
Ronna Schneberger – the first guide in the Mountain National Parks to have both guiding and yoga certifications – took our group (up to eight people) on a hike to some of her favourite secluded spots in the scenic wilderness. There, she guided us through a yoga practice unlike any we’ve had before.
The trips are specially designed for each tour, accommodating beginner to advanced groups, and can be full or half day (from $280-$720 per group).
For those who want a few days to explore their "inner and outer landscapes," Schneberger is putting on an Eco Yoga Retreat ($567) in Banff National Park from September 5-7. Enjoy three days of yoga, hiking and meditation, plus two nights at the Baker Creek Chalet and delicious food from adjoining Baker Creek bistro.
Sounds "ah"-inspiring.
