Colder weather calls for cosy surroundings and comfort food.
We found both at the Vendome Café, a new Kensington coffee bar brought to us by the folks at Teatro.
We lingered over hot-from-the-oven banana muffins ($3), creamy ham-and-cheese croissants ($7), and lattes made with Doi Chaang espresso ($4). Next visit we’ll go for a tasty made-in-house sweet tart ($6) or a steamy bowl of soup ($6), since we overheard a woman declaring it the “best I’ve ever had.”
This spot gives off a vibe as warm as the food. We may just hibernate here until spring.
