We’ve unearthed the crema of the local caffeine crop.
Caffe Crema, a family-owned café in the southwest, dishes out superb espresso drinks, made by carefully trained baristas who take their brewing and foaming very seriously.
While the coffee making is serious, the café gives off a vibe as light as the frosting on its harvest pumpkin loaf ($2). Yellow walls, wood floors and a fireplace set a nice, homey vibe. Add to that the stacks of used books available for purchase and we feel no need to rush through our thick soy latté ($4).
The sandwiches ($7) and pastries ($2 and up) are made by local bakeries and caterers, and the coffee beans come from Calgary’s Fratello Coffee Roasters.
A most stimulating discovery.
