Our diets may groan, but there’s nothing quite like good cheese.
Which is why we were thrilled to discover Kefi Greek House and Ouzo Bar and its dramatic saganaki ($12). This Greek cheese is on another level, flambéed to a gooey goodness at our table, and then doused with fresh lemon - all to the rousing cry of “Opa!”
The friendly, family-style servers enticed us to try a little bit of everything; including the signature Kefi Bifteki ($14) - tender ground beef stuffed with kefalotyri cheese (did we mention we love cheese?) - and the best dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves, $9) that we’ve ever had.
A strict dieter’s worst nightmare? Maybe. A cheese (and Greek) lover’s dream? Absolutely.
