To most Montrealers, Lebanese food means shawarma or falafel while we’re on the go.
With its elaborate décor and shisha pipes, Habibi encourages visitors to eat in style. Located by the Bell Centre, the two-floor restaurant is a far cry from the kebab shops in the area, and caters to a clientele that’s likely heading to a club or a hockey game.
We loved the extensive menu with its traditional fare like grilled meat plates with hummus or baba ghanouj ($14-$23). It was also easy to indulge in sweet and salty crêpes ($5-$10) and various fresh juices (including oddly delicious avocado, $5).
Unless we’re late for the game, there are plenty of reasons not to eat and run.
