It took one Bunsen burner “incident” in a high school chemistry class to teach us that experimentation is best left to professionals.
Further proving our scientific point: L.A.B. restaurant, which offers an expert mixture of molecular gastronomy, global flavours and cool-meets-comfortable ambiance.
We devoured root vegetables disguised as fried rings of “calamari” ($8). The Cabernet Sauvignon powder garnishing the carrot risotto ($18) packed a flavourful punch. And it took one bite of an 8-hour steak ($27) to make us believers in the science of sous-vide.
And what did we learn from the Mayan brownie ($9) topped with chili threads? A little bit of heat goes a long way. (If only our chemistry teacher had told us that sooner…)
