Reducing the amount of time spent in the kitchen is always on our list of priorities. (Unless it involves a blender, ice and margherita mix of course.) That’s not to imply we don’t like to eat; it’s just that the actual act of cooking sucks time away from important things. Like manicures.

That is exactly why Karen Moir (a certified Red Seal chef) opened The Hidden Chef Bistro and Catering. Bistro by morning (9:00am-3:00pm), and Grab n’ Go emporium by night (3:00pm-7:00pm), the chic little eatery is about everything food. We dined heartily for breakfast (we recommend the Baby Salmon Benny, made with smoked salmon, asparagus and sinfully delicious dill hollandaise, $11.95), and stopped in later in the day to pick up a freshly made (and piping hot!) dinner creation. There are also endless Heat & Serve vacuum-sealed entrees that can be frozen or kept in the fridge for days.
And if we ever find some time to learn Moir’s techniques and recipes, a slew of fun or serious cooking classes might make us put on that apron after all. (But only if it doesn’t ruin our mani.)
