We’ve discovered the best damn caffeine buzz since Juan Valdez went global.
That’s not the coffee talking. We’re blitzed about Oso Negro – a brand of coffee from an up-and-coming roastery based out of Nelson, BC. They’ve been around on their home turf for 15 years, but recently their beans have been popping up throughout Calgary (much to the delight of our eagerly awaiting mug).
What makes Oso Negro so good? High-grade Arabica coffee beans from around the world are expertly roasted and blended into 20 flavourful, get-your-heart-pumping varieties, from light to super-dark. And it doesn’t just taste amazing – the coffee is politically correct and enviro-friendly, to boot. The beans are selected through an importing firm in San Francisco that investigates the beans and the farms they are grown on. Most are certified organic; those that aren’t come from areas where farmers don’t have the resources to either certify their beans or to buy pesticides and herbicides.
So it’s a feel-good cup of java, in more ways than one. (We’ll drink to that.)
