The cupcake: Muffin-meets-dessert with a smear of sweet ooey gooey goodness.
Even though we love it, we still can't get over the guilt of stuffing our faces full of frosting. Lucky for us, now we can have our cake and eat it, too - all thanks to Michelle Wall and her Clever Cupcakes. Made from 100% whole wheat flour, agave nectar, Madagascar bourbon vanilla and other natural ingredients, they only taste like they're indulgences.
And the three step design process makes them even sweeter. We pick the cake (vanilla, chocolate, Chai spice, green tea, coffee...), the icing (cream cheese, peanut butter, chocolate mint...) and the optional filling (Boston cream, marshmallow, Guiness cream...) to make hit-the-craving-spot creations, from the exotic to the traditional. Our favourite: The Neapolitan, featuring chocolate cake, strawberry cream filling and vanilla icing.
It's just a simple click to pay online and have Michelle deliver right to our door (Downtown, West End). Even though these cupcakes come by the dozen ($24/unfilled, $30/filled), we're sure we'll have no problem sticking to some clever moderation. (One call a day seems about right... )
