I See A Blue Door

Greece has always grabbed our attention with its unique architecture, rich music and fabulous food (not to mention the handsome men).
And our latest find has us experiencing the wonders of this fit-for-the-gods gem – without the jet lag.
Just beyond Trinity restaurant’s massive blue doors we found what can only be described as a quaint Greek village tucked away in downtown Montreal. A Mediterranean feel immediately enveloped as we took in its spacious white décor, blue accent pieces and vibrantly coloured pillows.
Executive chef John Zoumis shined in his open market style kitchen, serving an artfully combined menu highlighting authentic cultural flavours. Our mouthwatering journey began with one of the night’s specials, Aristotle Oysters (prepared Rockefeller style with Kefalograviera cheese and Greek béchamel sauce, $22.50 for 6). Just as we thought things couldn’t get any better, we were presented with our main dish of Spetsofai ($36). This perfectly roasted Chilean sea bass combined with fresh stewed tomatoes and feta cheese garnish had us shouting OPA! (We would have smashed the plate if we weren’t so busy licking it.)
After one bite of their rich and velvety Feta Cheese Cake ($14), we feel we can officially declare Montreal one of the Greek Islands. (Doesn’t Montrealopopolous just roll off the tongue?)
