What a film! Floating out of the cinema, we were high from the scenery in The Darjeeling Ltd. Who knew India was bathed in shades of blue and orange? And who thought Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman would make such believable brothers?
Intent on reliving every minute, we sat down and shared a pint of Moosehead at Crobar, the cozy new hipster lounge downtown. It's smack dab between Hurley's and Brutopia on Crescent Street, but the aforementioned pint costs only $5 at Crobar, and mixed drinks are just $6. (And for our girlfriends who hate beer, there's delicious Duminot cider.)
We raised a glass to Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray and our beloved Owen Wilson. We toasted owner Nick Philippi, who made the rustic wooden tables and the stained glass lampshades with his father. (By the end of the night, we were even clinking glasses in honour of the royal blue walls.)
Tucked into the corner is a stage for live music, like jazz performances by Roger Walls and Sean Winters. We've already made plans to return November 9th to see rockers Continental Train Wreck. (And maybe a few more economical pints.)
