Naked makes it taste better

You may know Gastronomie Le Naked Lunch as a superb catering company, making high-end hors d'oeuvres for the It crowd. (We love what they do with smoked salmon and the foie gras is a point of pride for Chef Dominic D. Lamontagne. ) But did you know Le Naked Lunch is about to open the doors to its kitchen in Verdun one night a week? Every Thursday, they’ll be welcoming the public for a four-course tasting meal with paired wines.
Starting February 9th, there will be a regular weekly “gastronomie” evening. Here’s the best part: the fixed price is only $45.00 (Yes, we said $45...what a deal!) The first evening features sommelier Lisette Tremblay, who will introduce a privately imported Spanish wine. If you like the vino, you can buy a bottle to take home!
What kind of food can you expect? Chef Lamontagne works with ingredients like smoked trout, deer, sea scallops and lobster. (We suggest his signature pan-seared milk fed piglet liver with pomegranate sauce.)
While you’re there, take home a bowl of his famed Thai soup ($5) and some vacuum-packed gourmet food for the next night’s meal. We can’t get over the take-out Coq au Vin, costing $28 for 2 giant portions.
Do you need reservations for Thursday nights? Of course. The space is small, so book early. And expect to rub elbows with eager foodies from all over town.
