Hot Pot Supreme

(Apr.17.07)
On one of our regular post-yoga class ventures to China Town (General Tao craving) we stumbled across a hidden and little-known brand new gem: Mongolian Hot Pot restaurant.
And it’s quickly been added to our favourites list.
We loved the Asian-themed décor and background music. Plus, the concept of having our very own integrated heating element for our individual-sized cooking pot (group pots available for those romantic dates) was a wonderful change from the basic fondue meal ($15.99 per person).
We selected our broth (chocked full of fortifying and healing Chinese herbs) according to our individual tastes; regular, hot and, for those of us who love the best of both worlds, a split bowl ($1.50 extra). Then we headed for the wall of food to add to our soup. The choices were endless, ranging from veggies and tofu to fish and meats.
We had a great time experimenting with different combinations and it wasn’t long before we channeled our inner Iron Chef, engaging in a healthy competition debating whose hot pot reigned supreme.
